Our Social & PR co-op will have the opportunity to work with a team of talented Marketing & Communications professionals, and will report to a Group Communications Manager within the TurboTax team.

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience in and a passion for social media content creation, particularly social video content creation for your own or brand channels.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly curious, resourceful, detail- and solutions- oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills; comfort with managing communications materials, schedules, and supporting multiple projects.
  • Familiarity with social data and results reporting an asset (e.g., using tools like BrandWatch or Tableau).
  • Experience with social management tools and design (e.g., Sprout Social, Canva) is an asset.
  • French is an asset.

Eligibility Requirements:* Actively enrolled in an undergraduate degree or postgraduate program preferably in a related field such as marketing, communications, public relations, advertising, or social media

  • A graduation date at least 4 months after the co-op term ends.
  • Available for 8-month co-op work term with the ability to work full-time for the entire duration of the co-op.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada for the duration of the co-op term, without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to work in our Toronto office a minimum of 3 days per week. How you will lead

What You'll Do: This individual will help us with in-season execution related to social media. This includes activities like:

  • Developing custom content (including concepting, shooting, and editing social-first videos) for TurboTax social channels
  • Engaging with TurboTax audiences through ongoing social community management
  • Leveraging social listening and analytics tools to develop weekly reports
  • Supporting the planning and execution for TurboTax influencer campaigns
  • Working cross-functionally with colleagues across the Marketing & Communications teams to bring ideas to life

How you’ll lead* Develop custom content for social channels, including collaboration with team members to brainstorm content ideas, drafting scripts, refining scripts with feedback from key stakeholders, shooting and editing video content.

  • Proactively identify social trends to consider for TurboTax social channels.
  • Support influencer marketing strategies through researching and recommending potential influencer partnerships. Review and provide input on influencer content.
  • Assist with managing always-on social content calendars and launching social campaigns.
  • Track analytics to monitor performance and success.
  • Leverage social listening and analytics tools to monitor key competitors, analyze the social mentions and sentiment around the TurboTax brand and competitive brands, and identify key trends and insights to develop weekly reports during tax season.
  • Learn the TurboTax brand voice and tone, and actively engage with audiences across social channels through proactive and reactive community management.
  • Support influencer program, public relations, and organic and paid social media programs as needed.

To be eligible for the role you must align with the following:* Currently enrolled in post secondary education

  • A graduation date of no earlier than 4 months after the internship/co-op concludes
  • Not require sponsorship to work within the role now or in the future
  • Come in 2x per week to our Toronto office (all of our co-op roles are hybrid)
  • You’re enrolled in a post-secondary degree related to Computer Science/Engineering
  • You’re a lover of all things development
  • You may have some experience with: Java, Springboot, JavaScript, React, Python
  • You bring a passion for learning, exploration, & innovation
  • Nice to have: experience and passion for building Conversation AI How you will lead

  • Working together with the team: deeply understand customer problems and deliver specific features to delight them
  • Collaborate with other engineers to share best practices and knowledge of emerging technologies
  • Triage, fix and validate bugs
  • Implement features, products, and enhancements that improve the user experience.
  • Participate in the agile feature/product design process working with cross-functional teams including: Product Management, Experience Design, QA and Operations
