Engineering Student Intern

Inovatech Engineering, a division of Lincoln Electric Company of Canada, LP, designs and manufactures the PythonX Structural product, which is the global leader in structural robotic plasma cutting.

Business Unit:

Burlington Engineering is responsible for providing engineered solutions, integrated systems, automation programming and technical support to Lincoln Electric’s ongoing sales efforts specifically focused upon robotics, cutting systems and related solutions.

The Department is further responsible for the provision of technical support to direct end-user customers for service / maintenance contracts and warrantee related solutions, as well as, troubleshooting and problem solving with respect to customer issues.

Burlington Automation is expected to deliver results while contributing to Lincoln Electric’s ongoing business activities and priorities, as well as, meeting internal and external customer requirements in a timely, discreet and ethical manner.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Document current welding and assembling procedures
  • Create weldment drawings
  • Assist with the development of robotic plasma cutting equipment
  • Work with Operations Manager, Process Engineers and assemblers on current projects.
  • Generate electrical and mechanical drawings and production documentation as required
  • Support manufacturing team and collaborate with fabricators to resolve design related issues
  • Navigate and change 3D models as required for design changes.
  • Work and follow through with the Engineering Change (ECN) process to ensure changes are documented accurately
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled in a mechanical/electrical engineering or mechanical/electrical engineering technology program (Diploma or degree level)
  • Proficiency in Solid modeling (Solid Works) and AutoCAD software is preferred
  • Familiarity with best engineering practices
  • Detail oriented self-starter and team-player with excellent oral and written communications, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Positive, goal driven and team work attitude.
